premulching the squash field |
This morning was optimal transplanting weather, a 'glass half full,' way of saying sunless and still. We seized the chance and put in 6 varieties of winter squash, 3 varieties of pumpkins and 3 of summer squash. Ninety hills of 'em right up in 'Irene's field,' by the barn. Gavin, the neighbor boy, was the champion of the morning getting lots done and keeping us all entertained. A mellow yet productive morning. Fun!
