arrangements for the singers lapels |
Looking for something neat to do this Saturday night? Hannah H., Ally T. and Flip will be part of this event:
Here's a unique way to observe the Halloween season. On November 3, at 7pm, Vocal Skies will present a short concert of shape note songs. The selections come from The Sacred Harp, a collection of old and new songs written in the American shape note tradition of a-capella, four-part harmony. In observance of Halloween and the Day of the Dead, the singers have assembled a set on the theme of death, written between the 17th and 19th centuries. Come enjoy a contemplative, musical evening in historic Herring Cole on the St. Lawrence campus. The program is free and runs around 45 minutes. Herring-Cole is the neat old stone building roughly between Richardson Hall and University Avenue. If you walk up University Ave from Park St, it will be on your right, mid-hill.
We'd love to have you join us.
